Article IV
Chapters

Section 1.
A. Any five (5) members or more of this organization in good standing who desire to work to further the policies and purpose of this organization may petition the State Executive Committee for recognition as a chartered club. Such clubs, or units, shall be chartered by a majority vote of the State Executive Committee.

Chapters which have established a membership basis of at least five (5) members shall submit a list of those members’ names, email addresses, telephone numbers, mailing addresses, and dates of birth, along with a list of elected officers as well as a copy of the chapters constitution to the Secretary of the Young Democrats of Oklahoma every year at least forty five (45) days prior to the spring convention. If a chapter wishes to be recognized after convention then it must submit these documents immediately to the Secretary and will be approved at the next Executive Committee meeting.

C. Municipality and county chapters may officially name themselves Democratic Future chapters while still being affiliated with the Young Democrats of Oklahoma.

D. College chapters may officially name themselves College Democrats while still being affiliated with the Young Democrats of Oklahoma. YDO shall encourage college chapters to coordinate with College Democrats of Oklahoma and College Democrats of America.

E. A recognized chapter shall be deemed dissolved if it fails to recharter with the state organization (YDO) every year prior to the annual spring convention. As stated in Section B.

Section 2.
